MOUNTAIN CALL shares the voices of local stewards working on the front lines of snow leopard protection today

From cultural preservation to ecological conservation, these are the local organizations working together to answer the call

For indigenous communities living across the 12 Asian countries where the snow leopard is home, this sacred animal is both an enduring symbol of their national and cultural heritage, and an indicator of the health and sustainability of Asia’s high mountain ecosystems. And its future survival depends not just on warding off threats like poaching and loss of habitat: its survival also depends upon the enduring respect and value that traditional communities uphold for this totem animal.
